Kung Fu Komedy Club has Closed Its Doors in Shanghai

In decidedly unfunny news, Kung Fu Komedy Club on Xiangyang Lu has closed its doors. While there has been no official announcement, the club can no longer continue operating at the present moment. They are hoping to reopen, however, so fingers crossed.

KFK were pioneers of the city's standup scene, bringing through scores of international acts and creating a platform for Shanghai and China-based comedians to try their hand at finding their laugh-inducing voice.

Since 2010, they have been fostering a community within the city for people looking to lighten the load of life in Shanghai and, while we hope it's temporary, their presence will be greatly missed.
